Nintendo just announced that they sold 30 million Wiis – that’s one Wii for every unemployed American as of last February or, if you’re a little more chipper, one for every Facebook user in the world.

Microsoft has come up with its own internal version of a price comparison between motion control platforms. Of course, Microsoft shows their way being the cheapest route to motion control, but it really depends on how you’re playing the game.

The Nintendo Wii is the hottest thing since, well, the Nintendo Game Boy. It showed consumers (and Microsoft and Sony) that motion controllers are the future. However, even though Nintendo jumped on the 3D bandwagon with the 3DS, Nintendo’s Miyamoto doesn’t see the Wii’s successor hopping on board, too.
A patent application has been filed by Nintendo for a system of delivering and navigating Wii games via hard drive. It’s really simple, actually: the game disc is ripped to a DVD image, which image is given its own partition and loaded on demand. Essentially, they’re doing what pirates have been doing for the last decade or so. The question is whether this system is actually a consumer product or just a tool for them to use in-house or for display Wiis?
